It's time to face facts, Sir Keir Starmer is a conservative who would not look out of place in the Tory Party. A bunch of socialists have just read that line and are muttering "no shit" because they've been saying this for quite some time and have absolutely been proven right. Even the people who've backed Starmer cannot deny this simple fact any longer.

It's time to face facts, Sir Keir Starmer is a conservative who would not look remotely out of place in the Tory Party. A bunch of socialists have just read that line and are muttering "no shit" because they've been saying this for quite some time and have absolutely been proven right. But even the people who've backed Starmer cannot deny this simple fact any longer.

The Labour Party has been gifted an insurmountable poll lead by the Tory collapse, meaning its leader has no need to hide his true face. Previously Starmer's supporters have argued he needed to push right to win an election, but that he could shift leftwards once in power. However, Starmer is giving us every indication that he is doing the opposite.

Starmer could occupy any space on the political spectrum from the far-right to the far-left and he would still be our next prime minister. He is undoubtedly going to win a general election by default. In such a circumstance, he is perfectly free to show us where he stands ideologically and that's exactly what he is doing.

Starmer could say he believes in the nationalisation of our key public services and the public would still back him. He could say he still believes in a People's Vote and the public would still back him. He could take on the Tories' woeful anti-refugee rhetoric and the public would still back him. This is because they are crying out for an alternative after 12 years of nightmarish Tory rule.

People have accused Starmer of going wherever the wind is blowing, but he's not doing that, he's controlling the direction the wind blows. When you have the two leaders of our main political parties telling us more or less the same things, they're deciding this is the direction of the country whether you like it or not. We no longer have a meaningful choice, we are just helpless passengers.

Just look at what Starmer says here:

Another reminder that Mr People's Vote is now against a People's Vote! It looks like all those people who accused Starmer of cynically using a wedge issue to oust the previous Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn were right. In 2019, People's Vote really was a policy that could cost Labour a general election, but not anymore. There is a much bigger appetite for rejoining the EU, given how badly the government has fucked up Brexit, and whether you think rejoining is a good idea or not, you can surely agree this is not the deal breaker it once was. The truth is Starmer never cared about the People's Vote, his only job is to serve the needs of the establishment and appease the right-wing.

Starmer has indicated he would not allow a Scottish independence referendum, even if the Supreme Court gave the green light and the Scottish people wanted this. In other words, he does not believe in democracy, something he has previously shown by rigging Labour Party rules to oust socialists, ban them from standing in elections and ensure Labour will probably never have another left-wing leader. Also, he's just made a former Tory MP Christian Wakeford a Labour whip.

And just look at this:

Yes, Starmer is now explicitly against freedom of movement. He only supported this when he wanted to trick you into voting for him to become Labour leader and now he's showing you what he really thinks. He even said we're recruiting too many people from overseas into the health service.

We have about 6,000 nursing and midwifery vacancies in Scotland, and we're told England is facing its biggest-ever NHS staffing crisis. England recruited 34% of doctors from overseas last year because we simply had no choice and Scotland is hiring 750 nurses and midwives from abroad to ease the strain. Starmer could've easily said we need to train more doctors, nurses and midwives without undermining foreign NHS staff who deserve more respect. This was nothing but a racist dog whistle.

Shadow Health Minister Wes Streeting is saying Labour won't endlessly pump money into our health system and that we need the private sector to reform (loot) the NHS. Even worse, our nurses are about to go on strike and the leader of the political party that was founded by unions can't even bring himself to support them. What a betrayal of the Labour movement and what a betrayal of his namesake Keir Hardie.

At a time when the NHS is on its knees, Starmer is appealing to your racist uncle who doesn't want to be treated by a foreign doctor and thinks our "ungrateful" nurses should accept what they're given. It's not the first time he's done something like this either. Remember when he said Black Lives Matter was a moment, not a movement, that he has no truck whatsoever with BLM, and the people who toppled the Colston statue were totally wrong?

All the evidence has shown that not only is Sir Keir Starmer economically conservative but socially conservative too. In other words, he is just a conservative. Ask yourself, if he were to replace Rishi Sunak as Tory leader, would there be any significant difference? Given the talk of his shadow chancellor on benefits claimants and refugees, I think we all know the answer.

Starmer has abandoned his ten pledges and is not offering the public a damn thing that looks left-wing under any degree of scrutiny. Sure he'll pretend to have a left-wing idea like a publicly-owned energy company and then you read the small print and find out this company won't actually supply energy. It will just be about the "management of investments to unlock these markets and opportunities." That sounds an awful lot like Great British Energy is intended to help private energy firms when Labour should be taking them on.

On almost every major issue from housing to energy supply to the climate crisis, left-wing solutions are popular with the general public. Yet Starmer only looks comfortable when he's telling us we can't have them, that business will just continue as usual. It's excruciating. I want the Tory Party out at the next election as much as the next person, but Starmer is doing his level best to ensure we have nothing to cheer about when that happens. He is a snake who is going to become prime minister because he was in the right place at the right time and used that opportunity to be as dishonest as possible.
