Digital ID is the complete eradication of personal freedom. That so many people seem unconcerned about this is itself troubling. People have become so attached to ‘modern conveniences’ that they would rather become tethered to authoritarian rule, for fear of being inconvenienced. Sad world.

I seem to recall one of the driving factors behind Brexit was the EU move to extend the requirement to carry ID cards to British citizens. Now 'Sir' Kid Starver wants just that, without consulting the public. I'm British, and live outside the UK, so am I supposed to have one of these? GFY, Starmer!

One's entire health, economic and social profile being available for public surveillance, and access to their funds and the internet being shut off at a moment's notice, without their consent? Sounds horrible, no thanks. Nor should Blair be in charge of this or anything to do with Gaza, based on his past history and track record, in my view.
So the digital ID thing in the U.K. sounds somewhat similar to what Trump is planning with Planatir here in the US. Our two countries I think are basically one
First, an NHS ID Card. Then, a National ID Card. Finally, a Digital ID linked to your biometrics - iris, fingerprints, vascular/vein matching. If you think this is unlikely, then you should know that security and intelligence agencies already do this.
