The judgment established that the defendant was innocent of the charges. That is placing a(nother) brick in the protective wall of our right to protest peacefully. It is also a clarification for other judges and hopefully also for the policing policy. Congrats to the defendant and her representatives.
Whoever speaks or acts in favor of Palestinians is an enemy of the British oligarchy because he endangers their goals in that geostrategically very important region !!!
Zionists just do the dirty work and will be disposed-off at given time.
What concerns me is that the police are prepared to deploy significant resources to follow up a complaint made by a single member of the public who is then able to remain anonymous.
The Lab movement is far bigger than 1 man or his closer small team. The Lab movement historic struggle has always been about fighting inequality, defending freedoms and opposing oppression. Change inevitably has to take place soon with a challenge say from King of North,
Thank you for your comprehensive reporting as always, Mr. Hale. As someone across the pond, I appreciate your work so that I can stay aware of events in the UK. I am glad that Ms. Strecker was acquitted, but the fact that her social media profile was combed through to find any sort of "evidence" with which to discredit her for expressing solidarity with people who have been occupied for a century and counting, and genocided for the last 2+, is terrible and deplorable. This idea of "thought crime" is also Orwellian, and more and more, it seems like the world Mr. Orwell envisioned in 1984 is becoming our reality, very unnerving.
so many voices out there in the ether like yours yet the Israeli's get the support from the Western psyco governments and the Palestinians get massacred. What the hell is wrong with us. to let this be.
Thank you for reporting Natalie's case, which I have been doing my best to publicize since her arrest in 2024.
Perhaps I may be allowed to correct, and expand, a few factual points in your article.
The police did not decide to investigate Natalie because they had seen some of her posts, as the article suggests.
They received a formal complaint from an opponent of the Palestinian cause, presumed to be the same complainant that had made repeated complaints to Natalie's employer.
For more on this context and the background of Natalie's arrest, see my recent article written before her trial:
It is not, at least formally, a UK prosecution. Jersey is not part of the UK but a personal overseas possession of the British crown.
However, from the day of her arrest on, the Jersey police were clear that they had no experience in investigating this sort of complaint. Indeed, nobody had previously been investigated under Jersey's Terrorism Act of 2002, which was copied from our 2000 Act.
The Jersey police and the prosecution therefore sought and received guidance from the counter terrorism authorities in Britain and the UK Attorney General's office.
While the section of the terrorism act under which she was charged does carry a maximum sentence of 10 years, the trial was listed to be heard under the 'Inferior Number', which can impose a maximum sentence of four years.(based on my research).
Natalie was acquitted not because the two jurats (a bit like magistrates) and the judge did not think that has statements could indicate support for the proscribed organizations, but because they could not be sure that she *intended* them to encourage such support.
The defence of not intending the remarks to be seen as encouraging support for a prescribed organization must be specific to Jersey, as the UK law excludes such an excuse.
The UK Terrorism Act 2000 s12 currently states that
"A person commits an offence if the person—
(a)expresses an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, and
(b)in doing so is reckless as to whether a person to whom the expression is directed will be encouraged to support a proscribed organisation."
In other words, a throwaway remark, taken out of context and with no intent to encourage support, can nonetheless be deemed to be reckless as to whether it might do so. It is also no defence, as is general in our law, to be unaware of the law or unaware that the organization referenced is proscribed.
That's why the judge in Natalie's case made it very clear that people in support of the Palestinian cause need to be very careful about how they express that support. I'm sure that he was well aware from the character witnesses, the publicity and the people who attended the trial, that the case had widespread interest particularly from the UK.
Even in Jersey, it's entirely possible that a future case under the same section might reach a different conclusion based on the facts presented to them.
I first saw the bit about children in Craig Murray's article. I don't know if he got it from somewhere else, but it's wrong.
Natalie is not a mother and does not have any young children. She has a husband and a cat who she would have missed very much if she had been imprisoned.

How can anyone hate winter? It's a passing word, but it carries a lot of pain. I'm Dalia, a mother of two. I'm supposed to enjoy a peaceful life with my children, bringing hot chocolate and movies on the cold winter nights here.I will be looking out of my window and watch the beautiful winter while my babies wear the most beautiful warm clothes.I should have gone to university and complete my shattered dream.Life is harsh; I have to wash clothes by hand, and I have two C-section scars that cause me great pain in this cold, because my children don't have good clothes. There's no rug covering the floor to keep us warm. There's no gas stove to make a hot drink. My husband carries water a long distance so I can wash clothes in this cold. The window is open, so the wind is strong. I'm afraid my children will get sick or that we won't be able to pay the monthly rent.My dream of graduating from university has been shattered. My husband has no job here, and my children have no hope except for you. I truly cannot bear to see my family suffer. So, my friends, you can hate the rain...because it will bring back your tragedy. It will increase my pain...you have seen my suffering for two years and I have not felt comfortable...I'm confident that this winter will be warmer and kinder with you all by my family's side, and I know you are our best supporters.
Britannia is just taKKKing care of her toxic off$pring...after all, the £eviathan gas field offshore of Gaza is marked out for British Gas piracy for surrvei££ance services rendered from Cyprus to keep the genocide ro££ing along under the Don's c€a$efire-my-ar$€.

If the judge, even while acquitting, claims that the police were right to bring the case ( i.e regardless of an absence of any evidence, to appease the government), then we are well onto step 2, the elimination of jury trials. I am glad for Natalie Strecker that she slipped through the door before it closed, but her trial highlights what lies ahead. Justice is breathing its last.

Political persecution using the Court of Law will have damaging repercussions for any kind of social order.
Where is the logic? When police/government/security services do not stop to think/question how a pacifist can also be called a terrorist!?

Fortunately, that has not been the outcome.
She should never have been in court.
