While despicable “journalists” in the corporate media are justifying the abduction of Maduro and pretending invasion is liberation, supporters of the Venezuelan opposition are joining pro-Maduro protesters on the street.
“The CIA as we know it is the Frankenstein monster created by Allen Dulles. He and his brother thought that no amount of death and killing was over the line in the furtherance of capitalism. The covert operations role has expanded exponentially to become the major activity of the CIA. The law authorizing the CIA is a ceding of the Constitutional powers of Congress to make and declare war to the CIA, at least as long as no one finds out. Secretly, clandestinely, the CIA funds student groups in “enemy” countries, stirs up the capitalist forces in politics, supports candidates who are willing to kiss US ass, and provides money and weapons to right-wing terrorists. These covert operations have expanded from bloodless coups (if ever a thing actually existed) to full scale military operations, sanctioned by their mandate under the law interpreted broadly. The CIA has authorization to call forth US military forces (special forces, WMDs, gunships, etc...) anywhere around the globe, and no amount of killing and slaughter is distasteful or enough… but you can never tell a colonial power that they don’t own what they’ve stolen.”
As much as I hope that Flores receives medical treatment very soon, I feel that possibility is low. US prisons have been known to deny prisoners (including ones with cancer!) necessary medical treatment for months or even longer.
If extrajudicial killings, human rights violations and extreme poverty make for heroic leadership - Yay Maduro. He's kind of the Venezuelan Trump.
And yes, people are talking about Venezuela's economic growth. But let's be honest -after GDP shrinks 70%+, an increase of 4% or 5% isn't earth-shattering.
This is not about Trump or Maduro. This is about whether there is going to be any international consensus bout how nations and peoples deal with one another. Since their founding, and before, both the USA and Israel have shown they have no respect for anyone else, regardless who was their leader. They both are and have always been rogue, imperialist states and nothing will ever change that. Like Rome and other empires, they must fall and be dismantled before the world can relax.
Well said Mr. Stockton. This latest blatant imperialist forced regime change, as well as the ongoing genocidal occupation, show that "international law" is a sham if certain nations can not abide by it at all whenever they so choose
YES. We need to restore reason to the political sphere. Unfortunately, American democracy was founded on certain assumptions of good faith actors. When all those on stage refuse to act responsibly , things fall apart.
If not for the enabling of the US and UK governments that created Israel, Israel's genocidal actions would not have been able to grow to the dystopian proportions that they have.
I'm not a historian, but I doubt American "democracy" had good faith as its foundation. It probably intended some trust amongst those who ruled even if they disagreed on minor things, but American "democracy" excluded non-landowners, non-whites, women and even set the President up as a substitute for the King. Despite pious words over the centuries about "all men being created equal" they found ways to exclude those who were not white and now, the government has reversed some weak, initial attempts, through DEI, to correct past discrimination. I think we do a disservice to future generations when we continue to pretend that western nations have ever intended or reached democracy. Voting for which party continues the exploitation of the many has been a useful tool for the ruling class, but it's not democracy.
Last time I looked it was founded on genocide, land grabs, claim-jumping, slavery, opium pushing into China, robber-baron capita£i$m, Di$neyland fantasies spliced to Hollywood PR-op-agenda and topped off with Madi$on Ave £i€$.
But then it emerged from New Eng£and...mother of all ye o£de Bruti$h Vampire para$it€s
When I said 'good faith actors' I meant an assumption that participants in the American Democracy would support it even in circumstances that were not binding.
All forms of government are ultimately flawed in application, the test is how the participants commit to overcome those flaws.
Also, to describe modern democracy as not being democracy because of social inequality is a bit naive as social inequality has been a part of democracies throughout history.
I take your point about social inequality being an integral part of what we call democracy throughout history. But, maybe part of the problem is that we have accepted social inequality as part of democracy despite our governments' continuing, empty words to end social inequality. Maybe we need to start talking honestly about how flawed our society is and that it cannot be a real democracy until everyone shares the wealth of the planet equitably - to the extent the planet can sustainably provide that wealth. Maybe our accepting of the lesser of two evils, the acceptance of a semblance of democracy for ourselves while others suffer, is part of the problem.
i have never heard such rubbish in my life. the United States of the Devil IsRael has sanctioned Venezuela to the max and told no Country to do business with it and then you ask where is the economic growth...
Who 'asked where is the economic growth'? I stated after years of severe economic decline there are reports of economic growth. But for reference here are some links regarding recent economic growth :
so i guess that you are a real person, that means you are really stupid.
Why are you stating "severe economic decline"? It is obvious that if i don't let anyone do business with you and try and assassinate and destabilise the Country at every turn, then of course there will be severe economic decline...
If you had half a brain, then you should be stating how are we going to get rid of the Devil IsRael States of America.
I am so sorry If I've offended you. Clearly you are entitled to your opinion. My only concern is for your health. Have you had a recent fall or illness perhaps occasioning some kind of cognitive dysfunction? I would highly recommend seeing a physician at your soonest possible opportunity.
Yeah. sure. you are so right. nothing to do with Chavez or Maduro dismantling support for manufacturing and agriculture to focus on becoming a petrostate. They are all such innocent victims of the USA . Yep. Trying reading history. If your economy is dependent on a single commodity and it's value declines what might be the consequences? Hmm?
You left out the parts of crippling US sanctions oil installations sabotage and the theft of Venezuelan gold assets by the UK banks. So basically ANY increase under those dire western imposed circumstances is a positive against all odds.
Seems like all leaders do that. I mean, they wanted Assand dead, they keep people in prison illegally, and sanctions are whatr causes extreme poverty, ands excuse thye US doesn;t have for it's citizens.
The US is NOT justified in its actions. It is NOT justified in breaking international laws governing heads of state, or in using the Geneva Convention as if it were toilet paper.
"Maduro’s approval rating in Venezuela and the UK is much higher than Starmer’s."
It's probably way higher than Trump's in the US. How can you appreciate anyone who deliberately breaks a woman's ribs who is trying to prevent her husband from being kidnapped? It's just disgusting and completely illegal.
Good one,
Here an impressive speech from professor Sachs at the UN on Venezuela

When will the world be free of this highly dangerous, armed clown car that is america?
Slavery, regime change, mass shootings, life saving medicine as a commodity, school killings, nuclear detonations over civilian targets...
THIS IS WHAT AMERICA STANDS FOR.

I have to say I felt thoroughly sick seeing a President of a Nation being handcuffed and taken to the dishonourable US for a sham trial.
Agree, a truly disgusting act, and for his wife to be injured and attended to - broken ribs can be dangerous and pierce a lung.
What has happened to respect, decent human behaviour? Which country will next have its leaders kidnapped?

Yes, what Trump did was criminally heinous, but it doesn't make Maduro a hero.

Agreed. 'When choosing the lesser of two evils, always remember, it is still an evil.'
Sanctions cause extreme poverty!

Yes, i just fell off my chair when i read your very stupid comment about Venezuela's economy.
If the Devil IsRael States of America chokes off Venezuela's economy, then obviously the economy will go down. Idiot man.

thank you.
Excellent summary of the imploding kidnapping of Maduro. A+to Council Estate Media.
I'm just compiling a dossier on Maduro's shooting of JFK, RFK, MLK,...oh and it was him pierced Donald's ear that time in 2024.
We also have bought a witness that swears his wife shot JR to block the Ewing takeover of Greenland.
😁
the Devil IsRael. The Antichrist.
If I could restock this 1000 times I would. Thank you Ricky.
Finding ways to share and quote your article.
What a way to prove Lavrov,'s Maxim that "The US IS COMPETITION INCAPABLE."
Hi. Off topic but I can no longer find your excellent article about Somaliland: https://www.councilestatemedia.uk/israel-might-have-found-somewhere
The above link no longer works. Has it been taken down for some reason?
