My position on Burnham is that his role is to save the Labour Party, not the country, and that, if successful, his Premiership will cement the position of Labour as a centre right party. Essentially, I think that Labour is taking the political ground that was once held by the Conservative Party, just as they have taken on their funding sources and talking points ("party of business," anyone?)
