A farmer near to us was enquiring about hay for their goats. A usual wagon load costs £1600. Todays price quoted, £4000! What will the price of groceries when that is passed on. We do need to be self sufficient but farmers are under attack from all sides in this country and abroad. I wonder who is behind it?

A temporary increase after a wide-spread avian flu epidemic was understandable, but what big ag discovered is that people will pay lots and lots of money for eggs. So, instead of replacing the poultry stocks, they determined to keep the numbers of chickens lower and simply keep prices high.
This is the same through our entire agricultural supply chain. 4 producers control 60% of poultry supply. Cal-Maine alone controls some 25% of the egg market.
