I read some time ago that the F35 has a problem with the radar absorbent sheathing peeling off from the airframe at less than maximum speeds. That would certainly be an issue. If one account is to be believed the Iranians achieved this kill by equipping a loitering drone with an air to air missile. Don’t know if that true yet but it would be a very inventive way of dealing with F35s.
I can't stop thinking about how every person living in this country could have an affordable home, universal healthcare, free or reduced tuition at publiic universities, better physical buildings for free preK-12 public education, higher salaries for teachers, higher salaries for social workers, and no one would go hungry ever, and so much more but instead we get these murder machines by the hundreds and thousands and they don't even work. I'm honestly glad they fail.

The program is over budget and over schedule to the point that the budget and schedule are no longer of any relevance. Trump should have unleashed DOGE on the Pentagon and DOD, the most profligate wasters of taxpayers money in the federal government. I would have thought that seven consecutive failed audits would be reason enough.
I'm old enough to remember when it was the conservatives that were so outraged by the inflated prices all government agencies were paying for supplies, my dad even had a book something about how much a toilet seat cost, I think. I can accept that I'm far far left of most Americans but the complacency in this is insane to me. It has nothing to do with protecting citizens and everything to do with enriching the absolute worst human beings to have ever lived. It's so awful to know that most Americans have no idea how much better they could have it, nor do they realize how much blood is on their hands. All for what?
