The new party from Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana has already had almost 600,000 sign ups. To put that in perspective, the Labour Party had 564,443 members at its peak during the Corbyn years when it was the biggest party in western Europe.
starmer and Labour Party will be held account for their complicity in the worst than an Holocaust in Gaza and Genocide taking place across the the Middle East
Speaking of foreigners who want email updates… link?
And yes, though my skepticism for political reform has ended in bitter confirmation every time so far, and though I disagree with several of the policy directions expressed, I will happily donate to the breath of hope.
If the Corbyn and Sultana party fails we and the UK are doomed. Done. So it cannot fail. Ordinary decent people must make it the party of Governmen and: stop the Neo Liberal tax rip-off, the NATO con, save the NHS and stop support for Genocide ...for starters.
Frankly, this totally baffles me. The new party is proposing exactly the same policies as the Green Party has for years. Why not simply support the Greens? They are the true opposition to the status quo and R****m
Pretty much, yes, and Labour lost me to the Greens in the Blair years, but there are a lot of people out there who think the Greens are "All ban the Bomb, and knit your own Yoghurt!" and would never look past that preconception. the New/Your/Corbyn Sultana Party is a place for all those people to rally AND THEY ARE!
I believe I heard it years ago on an Alexi Sayle sketch on Capital Radio, so can’t claim credit for it as it’s already in the public domain, but if I misremembered and came up with it myself, you’re still very welcome to use it!👍🏼🙏🏼
The preconception is outdated as you know. It's up to Polanski et al to persuade those people you are referring to. After all, they have persuaded a large number to vote in Green councillors where there were none
Yes but it'll take time - that we probably don't have right now - to overcome that preconception and 'Corbyn' is a known brand. A YourParty/Green coalition e.g. agreeing not to stand against each other, may be workable?
Because the Green party are also the disciples of the Devil IsRael. The Greens were also trying to smear JC with antisemitism claims when they don't even know what antisemitism is...
It's the that the Greens somewhat watered down their policy on Palestine, but what evidence do you have that they are disciples of the Devil? Or even of Israel?
Mr Paul, are you listening to yourself: "Greens watered down their policy on Palestine, but what evidence do you have that they are disciples of the Devil IsRael"...
If this isn't evidence enough, then you are clearly blinded by your Anti-Christ.
A simple Google search can also find all the evidence you need to know that the Greens are the disciple of the Devil IsRael.
A Green politician is the only one who has regularly attended my local Palestine Solidarity demos and events. The other parties have been no-where to be seen.
i am not asking you to vote for "the other parties". All mainstream parties, including the Greens are corrupt and a disciple of the Devil IsRael.
That's why we have to vote for JC and Zarah. Only these politicians and the new ones they pick will save us from the Devil IsRael and not destroy the world (Imagine a Country bombing another country's Nuclear enrichment sites...)
In time, JC will also fix the self-inflicted immigration problem. As Trump let out the bag, who would want to leave Gaza for UK, unless the Devil IsRael States of America and its proxy, UK of Devil IsRael bombed the place to smithereens and they had no choice but to seek refuge at the bosom of the Empire...
I wasn't advocating voting for the other parties, or the Greens. Just pointing out my experience of an individual politician. Who doesn't necessarily have the backing of their own party given a recent selection process.
They are still way ahead of any other UK national party with MPs on this subject. Check this statement from last year, calling Israel an apartheid state and saying its actions in Gaza were genocide. This is not what "disciples of the Devil Israel" would put out. Be serious. Like the OP, you give no evidence for your opinion.
To call on Israel to evacuate it's illegal settlements in Gaza, to dismantle the 'settlement walls' around Gaza and for both the Israeli and Palestinian representatives ' to commit to the replacement of military force with agreement through diplomacy as a means of resolution' is never going to happen. To 'call' on the Israeli government to do anything is a waste of time. They impose conditions on settlements that no one would agree to. To expect Israel to agree to any trade deal with a strong human rights clause and respect for international law is a non starter. We should have no further trade with Israel, a nation that openly and willingly commits genocide and is proud of it? They aim for the complete extermination of Palestine and all ts people, building luxury apartments over their dead bodies?! There is no negotiating with debased vile monsters. No party with any moral standards should considering it.
You mean your (our) party has a programme? News to me. Yes, vague statements on some issues but that's about it. After all, isn't the founding conference (TBA) meant to decide this?
Regrettably, I need to burst your bubble. Set in the context of a decaying capitalism in crisis, 'our party' offers what it can never deliver. It will end up being a compromised package that the ruling class will never permit and end up satisfying no one. 'our party' needs to attempt to transform in toto, our political economy in order to deliver what it promises. Can you see that happening? Can you see the Empire permitting it?
Of course, it's possible that reality will transform 'our party' into a truly revolutionary force, I live in hope but Sultana's comment that, “this Labour government wasn’t going to bring back [a] socialism” one that never existed in the first place is not a very encouraging sign.
Capitalism is in crisis, it's busy creating a Fascist state in order to save capitalism from itself, much as Hitler or Mussolini were financed by big capital a century ago. Banning Palestine Action is the state's first shot across the bows of our putative 'democracy'.
However, I am supporting 'our party' (after all, I joined, along with 600,000+ others), right now, it's all we have, with the hope that the press of reality will transform it into a truly revolutionary force for real change. It is, perhaps right now, our only hope in a world that seems headed toward an apocalypse of war and environmental catastrophe.
Blimey, its clear that if everyone thought like you, NOTHING would EVER change. Lets try to be a bit optimistic eh? Maybe we're all sick of capitalism and corporations, maybe the word socialism doesn't strike fear in most people's hearts any longer, maybe its time we had a change of paradigm??? After all, nobody thought slaves should be freed, or women could vote or man land on the moon, until they were proved wrong!
The Devil IsRael. The masses are waking up to it now. It will become a programme for this country because we were the ones that let the Evil out of the bag.
The candidates for the Leadership have very clear proposals (I favour Zack Polanski) and a clear idea of how to tackle the status quo. I say I favour Zack because he is more aggressive and willing to fight from a social justice position as opposed to Chowns/Ramsay who I feel favour a "middle ground" approach to woo the undecided. Their statements aren't vague at all.
I'm going with what they have been presenting at interviews and hustings (there will be one in Brighton on the 4th - see you there?) Conference is usually a waste of time. Too bloody "democratic"!
The Greens aren't capable of drawing enough support to make as big a difference. The interest shown in the proposed new progressive party clearly indicates that. I think PR is needed for the greens to really thrive and I would like to see them thrive.
I think they will, with the very savvy PR and social media awareness that Polanski has, and the experience of attracting vast numbers in rural areas that Chowns and Ramsay have. I'm still not sure what the New Party is offering that the Greens haven't been saying for years.
This is so exactly what has happened here in the US—and I really think that includes a result of possibly greater magnitude—that reading your post actually made me cry with…relief and pure happiness.
Some, perhaps many, people are asking "But would you vote for Corbyn as Prime Minister?
The prime minister is not directly elected, but you can see what they mean, even if they aren't totally hostile to the new party's ideas. My answer would have to be no. I think he demonstrated throughout his leadership period in Labour that he can't manage a party much less a government and a state. Sure, the odds against him were high and the environment totally hostile, but that would be exceeded by the environment and hostility if they ever got close to reasonable parliamentary representation.
But while I can respect him as an honest Social Democratic politician with traditional values and good principles, and quite a good speaker, his leadership qualities (and perhaps age at the next election) would not be up to the job, in my opinion.
I'll wait to see the new party's program, organisation and likely leader before reaching any conclusions. And, as I said in the previous comment, whether they are building a force among the people or solely an electoral machine.
Talking of which, have they expressed opinions on proportional representation?
Good article though I have to point out that the Green Party also has many if not all of the excellent policies you mention. Many in the Green Party are also keen to work towards a ‘Progressive Alliance’ which I believe makes sense.
I like Sultana and think, already, she would make a great PM. The Greens, although I agree mostly with their policies, don’t seem to have anyone like her. As for comparing Blair and Starmer, well, Blair was wrong but had brains, Starmer is what we call thick. I have no idea how he passed any exams, I think money and bribery must have been involved somewhere.
In his early years as director of public prosecution, I was quite impressed, with his public image at least. He was articulate come back clear and said some sensible things.
What happened after that is another story, but I don't think he is inherently 'thick'. There are plenty of other adjectives I would use: immoral, unprincipled, corruptible, malleable .... all the characteristics that made him a good candidate for the deep state and others to select to take over the Labour Party, purge it of the left, and offer a supposedly democratic alternative to the failing Conservatives . But not necessarily 'thick'.
Blessings to Corbyn.

Love, "knit your own yogurt" expression! Please may I use it from time to time? I promise not to wear it thin.
In Australia its "land rights for gay whales"....

I think you answered your own question in your first sentence. Watering down their policy on Palestine is supporting Israel.
They are still way ahead of any other UK national party with MPs on this subject. Check this statement from last year, calling Israel an apartheid state and saying its actions in Gaza were genocide. Check out Corbyn's manifesto from when he was Labour party leader. Its from 2019 and called ''its time for a real change.'' For the many not the few.
Its reasonable to think that it outlines pretty much everything that will make 'your party' relatable.
Regrettably, I need to burst your bubble. Set in the context of a decaying capitalism in crisis, 'our party' offers what it can never deliver. It will end up being a compromised package that the ruling class will never permit and end up satisfying no one. Let's hope you're right but this is just the beginning.
There is nothing vague about their mission and that is to rid the world of the Devil IsRael. We can all see it for what it is.
Hmm... that's not exactly a programme for this country, now is it?
The Devil IsRael. The masses are waking up to it now. It will become a programme for this country because we were the ones that let the Evil out of the bag.

Isn't this jumping the gun? The party's programme is to be decided at the founding conference or is it going to be just more of the same old bullshit?
I'm going with what they have been presenting at interviews and hustings (there will be one in Brighton on the 4th - see you there?) Conference is usually a waste of time. Too bloody "democratic"!
Brilliant! I rest my case.

The party has no money and has 100’s of thousands of ready voters proving money doesn’t create a political
Party at all .
That’s an establishment requirement .
Corruption .
Wise now to the nasty vicious slander of the ruling vested interests.
Will be a thrill to watch a parliamentary democracy arise from its grave without
A military required for change!
Civilization speaks.
I am in, this is so encouraging…hope Jeremy has a good team of body guards ….
I'm extremely happy for the coming of this new party and send you all my greetings.
All the best from me in Portugal
Well Maggot Hatcher did claim Tory B£iar's New £abour as her finest achievement.
That bad penny had to drop.
We can only dream that something like this could happen in the US.
And australia.
This is so exactly what has happened here in the US—and I really think that includes a result of possibly greater magnitude—that reading your post actually made me cry with…relief and pure happiness.
Well I really can't complain about this. Good luck to them, and I hope they stick to their intentions as stated so far.
You could join the new party and make it yours too. This is how it will succeed.
Let’s not forget starver supports usrael and made phrases like from the river to the sea illegal
And where that will lead in the near future if we don't stop it. All the more reason to join Corbyn's party.
Take THAT rabbi.
