I am most concerned about the possibility mentioned toward the end: that a peace deal is now possible in Gaza, because Netanyahu & Co. want to aim their offensive at Iran. As noted, this will prove a disaster, but once Trump is in office, they may attack anyway, confident that of even more US support. Iran will promptly shut down the Strait of Hormuz; oil prices will sky-rocket, and the Western economies will spiral down the porcelain. Let us hope this does not happen...
My understanding is that The Pentagon has been mulling a winable nuclear war right back to a split over following Nagasaki with hitting Russia. Truman and others talked it down.
